The Imagination Library, one of the many initiatives of College Park Rotary, aims to promote literacy for younger children. Children who register for the program receive a free book every month, and with time, they can build a personal library. To register your child, visit the club’s website. Parents can sign up their child as early as the day they are born. There are many other ways to get involved with the Imagination Library.
The College Park Rotary Club is a community service club in College Park, Maryland, that started in 1966. In the beginning, the club consisted of a handful of businessmen who had been members of the Winter Park and Orlando clubs. There were no official meeting places, so members met under an oak tree at the Dubsdread Golf Course. That particular day, the Dubsdread Golf Course forgot to prepare breakfast. However, this was only one of many mishaps that the club would encounter during its first meeting.
The College Park Rotary Club is committed to cultivating future leaders by hosting various community events and fostering a sense of community. One such event is the Taste of College Park, a delicious food and drink festival that is attended by the local community. The club also hosts its own fundraisers, which include the Taste of College Park. In addition to these events, members of the College Park Rotary Club meet on Thursdays at the historic Dubsdread.
The college-park Rotary group has already helped renovate the dining hall at St. Ann’s. Other organizations have been inspired to take up similar projects, including painting rooms and installing wood-like flooring in halls. In addition, the group has also completed a beauty parlor for the resident teen moms. The club’s projects have also inspired other organizations to improve St. Ann’s. The group is also working to refurbish and reopen the kitchen in each unit.
